Getting started
Is it free to list?
Yes. Listing is free, every listing starts with 250 clout, and no credit card is required. Optional clout packs let you top up when you want a boost.
Can I list a site I don't own?
Yes — anyone can champion a favorite shop, SaaS, or local business. No permission needed.
How do I earn clout?
Clout is bought: clout packs are the only way to add it, and it's the only thing that ranks. Sharing earns Buzz instead — each real visitor your referral link brings in adds +5 Buzz (up to 3 rewards per week per person). Buzz never ranks and never decays; it builds your Top Supporter standing. Visits and taps grant neither — they feed the click counters and the Most Visited sidebar only.
How the board works
What is clout, exactly?
Clout is your listing's position fuel — the only thing the board ranks by, highest first. Every listing gets a one-time 250-clout starter bid to get on the board; after that Clout comes only from packs, because nothing free should rank. Buzz is the separate earned number: it proves you brought real visitors and never affects position.
What happens when clout hits 0?
The listing falls off the board completely. It's not deleted — anyone can bring it back by re-listing the same URL through the normal free flow, and it returns with a fresh 250-clout starter bid (same page, same referral link). Buying a clout pack gets it back on instantly, too.
What is daily decay?
Attention is not permanent. Every listing loses 1 clout per day, so the board always reflects who is earning attention now. Holding a position means keeping clout topped up.
Are there city leaderboards?
Yes. Every city has its own board, and the global board shows all cities together. Switch cities from the selector on the home page.
Traffic and results
Will I get traffic or SEO from this?
No promises. Clout Clock is a leaderboard game, not an ad platform. Clout buys visibility inside the game; real people decide what to click. We never guarantee visitors, clicks, or sales.
What do I get for being on the board?
Position and visibility in front of people browsing the board. Higher clout means a higher rank, which means more eyes. What those eyes do is up to them.
Can I pay for a guaranteed result?
No. Clout packs change your rank, not anyone's behaviour. Anything promising guaranteed traffic, clicks, or sales is not something we offer.
